Renata's body was found in the street. The identity of her killer - or killers - is not known.
And the escalation of violence continues to frighten residents of Itaperuna, which recorded another homicide on Wednesday night (09), the second of the day and the sixth, just this month of September.
[Deadname] dos Santos Batalha, 31, or “Renata Santos,” who was reportedly transgender, was murdered, apparently with stab wounds, in the Jardim Surubi neighborhood.
Locals found the victim lying on the corner of Laudicéia de F. Jesus and Alice Godefroy Da Costa and called the Fire Department, who, however, found her already without vital signs. Military personnel from the 29th BPM preserved the crime scene for forensic examination and removal of the body to the IML (Institute of Legal Medicine).
The case was forwarded to the 143rd Police Precinct, which opened an investigation to determine the perpetrator and motive of the homicide.
