Madonna's body was found with gunshot wounds inside a car. The identity of her killer(s) is not known.
A 46-year-old transgender woman was found dead inside a Citroën C4 Lounge on Monday night, August 31, in the Jardelino Ramos neighborhood of Caxias do Sul. She was identified as Madonna Isabella Webber Saldanha da Silva. No one had been arrested at the time of publication of this report.
The Military Police were called around 11:30 PM after residents reported hearing gunshots. The victim was found dead in the driver's seat. According to the Civil Police, the preliminary investigation carried out by the General Institute of Forensics (IGP) indicated that the woman was hit by two shots to the head.
Witnesses reportedly saw a person leaving the scene after the shots were fired. The area was cordoned off for forensic investigation, and the body was taken for legal procedures. The Homicide and Personal Protection Division (DPHPP) of Caxias do Sul is investigating the perpetrator, the motive, and the circumstances of the crime.
Madonna da Silva's body will lie in state in Room C of the São Francisco Funeral Home. Her burial will take place this Wednesday, the 2nd, at 2:30 PM, in the Municipal Cemetery of Caxias do Sul.
