Luan's body was found in a burning sugarcane field. The identity of his killer(s) is not known.
The body of a 17-year-old trans teenager was found with signs of asphyxiation and charred in a sugarcane field hit by a fire on Sunday morning (30) on Estrada José Vigilato de Castilho, in Penápolis (SP).
According to the police report, the plantation owner was alerted to the fire by a neighbor. He went to the site, accompanied by an employee, and used a water truck to extinguish the flames.
After the fire was brought under control, the two found the teenager's body, identified as Luan, in the area affected by the fire and called the police. The victim was partially undressed, lying face down, with severe burns on his arms, leg, and stomach.
Near the body, a flip-flop, a necklace, and a cell phone charger cable were found and seized. The body was sent to the Forensic Medical Institute (IML) in Araçatuba (SP).
According to g1 , the police chief in charge of the investigation, Thalys Sulyvan, reported that the case is being treated by the police as a homicide. The motive for the crime is being investigated by the police. No suspects have been identified as of the last update of this report.
