Maria's body was found with head injuries on a road in a rural area.

The following day Genivaldo Miranda Soares, 30, was arrested on suspicion of robbery followed by murder.

A 46-year-old trans woman was found dead this Thursday (27) in a wooded area in the rural area of Tracuateua, in northeastern Pará.

The victim was identified as Maria Alessandra Roza Silva. According to the Military Police, Maria Alessandra was left seriously injured on a branch road near Vila de Fátima. The body was later located in the region.

Family members told the PM that Maria Alessandra had left accompanied by three other people. During the return to the locality, she was apparently violently assaulted, according to the family's account to the police. The Scientific Police were called to carry out the forensic examination and identified that Maria Alessandra was assaulted with a piece of wood to the head area.
