Jessica died in hospital after being attacked with a knife. Two suspects were arrested.
A homicide that occurred in the early hours of Thursday on a public road in the city of Villa Nueva, Córdoba, led to the arrest of two people from the same family, accused of being directly linked to the incident, according to the San Martín Department of the Córdoba Police.
Following an alert received at the Police Communications Center, Preventive Patrol personnel went to calle San Luis 200 in Villa Nueva, where they found a woman very seriously injured. The officers requested the intervention of Volunteer Firefighters to urgently transfer the victim to the Pasteur Regional Hospital in the city of Villa María, where unfortunately she died shortly after entering.
Based on the initial data collected at the scene, the police identified and apprehended the alleged aggressors: Johana Mailén Rogero, 22, and her father, Cristian Oscar Rogero, 48.
According to initial findings of the investigation, there were pre-existing personal conflicts between the victim and the accused, which did not appear to be related to gender-based violence. The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation.
By order of prosecutor Companys, the young woman was charged as the alleged perpetrator of the crime of simple homicide (article 79 of the Penal Code), while her father was charged as an alleged necessary participant in the same crime. Both remain housed in the Villa María city jail awaiting the corresponding judicial investigations.
