Lorena's body was found in a reservoir in suspicious circumstances.
The Civil Police will investigate the circumstances of the death of a trans woman found on Wednesday afternoon (22) in Açude Novo, in the rural area of Garanhuns, in the Agreste region of Pernambuco.
The victim was identified by local residents as Lorena. The body was inside the reservoir and was found wearing only underwear. The victim's remaining clothing was not found near the reservoir, according to information gathered at the scene by the Portal Agreste Violento.
Fire department teams were called to remove the body from the water. The area also underwent initial procedures related to the incident.
After the rescue, Lorena's body was sent to the Institute of Legal Medicine in Caruaru, where it will undergo examination. The forensic examination will determine the cause of death. The investigation will also seek to clarify how the victim arrived at the reservoir and what circumstances preceded the death.
