Salome was killed in the street.

A violent incident occurred on the night of Tuesday, July 7th, in Olanchito, Yoro, resulting in the death of a [woman] belonging to the LGBTQ+ community. The case has generated dismay among her acquaintances and representatives of the community.

The victim was identified as [deadname] Padilla, known as "Salomé", the name she used as a transgender woman. According to preliminary information, unknown assailants killed her.

Authorities have not confirmed the victim's cause of death. However, witnesses have indicated on social media that she was violently murdered on the streets where she worked as a sex worker.

In response to this situation, the National Police have already launched an investigation to clarify the violent incident, while organizations defending the rights of the LGBTIQ+ community are demanding justice and better conditions for this sector of the population in the country.

Through social media, friends, acquaintances, and community members have mourned Salomé's passing and expressed messages of affection and sadness at her departure.

Salome was originally from the community of Guadalupe Carney in Trujillo, where her family still lives.
