Age 19 (born 12 Aug 2025)22 Jan 2025
Huntsville, Ontario (Canada)
Suicide

Blake passed away on Wednesday 22nd January. Ontario Provincial Police ruled their death to have been a suicide.
Blake was a very passionate person dedicated to building community for those around them and worked hard with the Rural Ontario Community of Queer Youth to put on a series of care and wellness workshops and publish a zine of art and writing from rural 2SLGBTQIA+ youth from across the province, a number of whom were their friends. In the summers of their high school years they enjoyed attending 2SLGBTQIA+ summer camps. They were an incredible artist, worked doing theatre production in their hometown of Huntsville, Ontario which led them to pursuing their studies in Theatre Production at Toronto Metropolitan University. They were enrolled in their first year there at the time of their passing. They had a love for the forest, cooking, making art, poetry, and playing stardew valley.
Comments on their obituary posted by those who knew them paint a picture of a inspiring, friendly and creative person whose loss is an absolute tragedy.
Blake was a wonderful person. We had known each other for a long time, and they inspired me and those around them to be unabashedly themselves. The world was lucky to have them for the period it did, and i will remember them forever. My deepest condolences to their friends and family.
I worked with Blake - albeit briefly at Starbucks - but they were always fun and amusing. I am absolutely stunned to hear Blake's gone. I fully expected to see Blake at/involved with JC Superstar. I will miss seeing Blake's cheerful and friendly personality come to stock up on Fatface socks. My condolences to Blake's entire family over their loss.
I was saddened to hear of the loss of such an intelligent, empathetic, creative, mature beyond years, warm and caring person. I taught Blake in grade 6, and they were the kind of student you never forget! Blake, may you shine just as brightly where you have landed, as you did here. Healing thoughts go to Blake’s family and many friends.
