China was one of two women shot dead in front of the Los Rojos terminal in the same attack. The other victim was a cisgender woman.

COLIMA, Col. (apro).- After the murder of another trans woman, which occurred on Thursday the 1st in this city, the number of victims in this sector so far this year in the entity rose to five, while one more is missing in the municipality of Tecomán, said activist Marco Antonio Pérez Gaspar, former counselor of the Human Rights Commission of the State of Colima (CDHEC).
He warned that during the first five months of 2023, violence against the trans community in Colima worsened, since in this period the number of five transfeminicides that occurred throughout 2022 was already equal.
Yesterday afternoon, in front of the Los Rojos suburban terminal of this capital, located on Rodolfo Chávez Carrillo Boulevard, two women were shot to death, one of them trans known as La China, who lived in the El Tívoli neighborhood.
One of the victims died instantly at the scene of the attack, while the other died when Red Cross paramedics arrived.
Likewise, on May 17, State Day against Homophobia, the body of Natasha, a trans woman who had been missing for a month before, was found in the vicinity of the Alpuyequito canal, while on the previous March 31, another murder in a home in the Gustavo Vázquez Montes neighborhood, south of the city of Colima.
Two other trans women were killed in the municipality of Tecomán, one of them known as Joseline, who was attacked when she was traveling along Lázaro Cárdenas Street on her motorcycle and the other case also occurred in the municipal seat.
In that same city, in the early hours of April 23, Giovana disappeared while leaving a nightclub and to this day her relatives are unaware of her whereabouts.
