Embu das Artes, São Paulo (Brazil)
Stephany's body was found on a dirt road four days after she had been seen getting into a car after a party.
This Monday (24), the body of Stephany Villar, 24, who had been missing since last Thursday (20), was found on a dirt road in Embu das Artes, in Greater São Paulo. Stephany had gone out with a friend to a party in Capão Redondo, in the South Zone, when she disappeared.
According to initial information, Stephany was at a ballad, and at the end of the party she got into a white vehicle belonging to a supposed friend and was driven away. Since then, family and friends have had no news about her whereabouts. Her body was only found this Monday and according to reports from people close to her, it showed signs of violence, shots and stab wounds.
So far, there is no further information about the motive for the crime, but the suspicion is that as Stephany was a trans woman it was a case of transphobia. Brazil is, for the fourteenth consecutive year, the country that kills the most trans and travesti [people] in the world.
