Ecem (reports also named her as Ece Erdoğan) was stabbed to death inside a residence by a man who then fled the area in a taxi. The perpetrator was later arrested.

In Izmir, trans woman Ece E. was stabbed to death in the neck. The man who fled after the murder was caught in Torbalı.

Artı Gerçek - In the Konak district of Izmir, a man named M.F. stabbed trans woman Ecem Seçkin to death in the throat. M.F., who fled by taxi after the incident, was caught by the police.

Around 03:30, a man named M.F. stabbed the trans woman Seçkin in the throat to death in a house in Alsancak. The perpetrator then fled in the taxi he was riding in. Meanwhile, Seçkin's neighbors, who noticed the situation, reported it to the police teams. The teams, who identified the taxi license plate and the direction the suspect was going, caught M.F. in Torbalı district.

The perpetrator who was taken into custody was brought to the Homicide Bureau Chief of the Public Security Directorate for questioning. As part of the investigation into the incident, police officers from the Crime Scene Investigation and Identification Branch worked at the house where the incident took place. Following the prosecutor's examination, Seçkin's body was taken to the Izmir Forensic Medicine Institute morgue for autopsy.
