Gabriela was shot on the street at around 5am. She used social networks to raise awareness of human rights issues - including violence against LGBT+ people.
At the time she was killed Gabriela was visiting from Veracruz.
Gabriela Reyes, a transgender woman, was found dead and with at least two bullet wounds to the head in the vicinity of the Sabina neighborhood. The victim was a member of various networks in defense of human rights and sex work in her home state of Veracruz and was visiting [Villahermosa].
The trans woman had distinguished herself by spreading awareness of attacks on and murders of people from the country's gay lesbian community through her social networks but unfortunately she herself became another victim in Villahermosa.
According to initial reports from the authorities the attack took place shortly before five in the morning yesterday on Calle 20 de Noviembre, just in front of the private Guayacán, when locals made the emergency services aware of gunshots being heard in the area.
