The victim was strangled in her home. Her murderer had previously attempted to kill her two months earlier.
The Civil Police arrested one person while investigating the murder of a [trans woman] in Pirapora (MG). The victim was killed by strangulation, with a blow popularly known as “rear naked choke”, on the 9th of this month. The arrest took place on Tuesday (21).
According to the investigations, the man maintained close relations with the victim and committed the crime because he believed she was responsible for ending his relationship with someone else.
According to the Civil Police, the authorities became aware of the murder when they were called in by neighbors, who reported a strong odor coming out of the [trans woman's] house three days after the murder. Forensics were at the scene and sent the body, which was in an advanced state of decomposition, to the city's Legal Medical Institute.
Before committing the murder, the investigated had already tried to kill the victim. On February 5 of this year, he went to her house armed with a knife. The [trans woman] defended herself, managing to take the knife and hit the attacker. The man already has police records for domestic and family violence. In addition, he claimed to have committed a murder in Bahia 20 years ago.
