Monike's body was found in water chained to a depth measuring stick on the morning of 14th February. She had been tortured.
The body of a [trans woman] was found tied up with chains this Friday morning (14) at a waterfall in Missão Velha, a town in the interior of Ceará. Monike Matias Chagas, 25, the name by which she was known, was partially submerged and attached by a rope to the waterfall level meter, according to the police.
Old Mission delegate Ronaldo Leite says Monike's body was attached to chains with a waist-high padlock. In addition, a container of oil was found close to the scene.
