Two homosexuals are among 23 people killed in Ceara over the long weekend of Holy Week. One of the crimes occurred in Fortaleza and another in the interior. There was also a third case in which a [trans woman] was shot in the head and rescued, in a very serious condition, to the Doctor José Frota Institute in the Capital.
The first case occurred on the morning of Holy Thursday (18), when the body of a [trans woman] was found with marks of violence in a bush-lined canal on Avenida J do Conjunto Ceará. Police were unable to identify the victim.
The second case occurred in the municipality of Tarrafas, in the southern region of the state (451 km from Fortaleza), where a hairdresser was killed by knife blows and the body left in the vicinity of the slaughterhouse. Police quickly clarified the crime by arresting one of those involved. According to the authorities, Expedito Alves de Sousa, 49, was allegedly murdered by a former lover, who had promised money to buy a motorcycle and did not comply.
The crime was premeditated and was attended by three suspects. Everyone has already been identified and one of them is being detained. Carlos Alberto de Oliveira, arrested by the police, said that Expedito was stabbed to death by his former lover, known as Arnaldo, who is on the run.
The third crime occurred on Sunday night (21), in the Boqueirão neighborhood of Caucaia, in the Metropolitan Region of Fortaleza (RMF), when Francisco de Assis dos Santos, 28, who uses the social name "Raíssa", was shot in the head.
The crime occurred inside a residence on José do Patrocínio Street. “Raisa” was shot by a stranger. 12th BPM police have been on the scene looking for information about the case but have not arrested any suspects so far.
