Alev was stabbed in the heart by a man who approached her as a potential customer.
LGBTI activists gathered at 18.30 in front of the Statue of Human Rights on Yüksel Street and condemned the murder of Alev and hate crimes against trans people. The press statement of the group was read by young trans activist Arjin Deniz.
Deniz stated that they will follow the case of Alev who was stabbed to death on the street on December 2 at 8.30 am. In the last 10 days, 4 transphobic hate attacks have bee carried out against a succession against trans people in Istanbul and Ankara, and 2 transgender women have lost their lives.
