Aaiyza was shot in the Ahmadpuri Gate area of Bahawalpur. A suspect has been arrested.
BAHAWALPUR - A man opened fire at a [trans woman], leaving [her] dead in Ahmadpuri gate area of Bahawalpur city, police said. The police sources said that a man opened indiscriminate fire at a [trans woman], identified as [deadname] alias Aaiyza at a house in Ahmadpuri gate area. The [trans woman] received critical bullet wounds in [her] chest and was rushed to Bahawal Victoria Hospital for emergency medical aid. However, the [trans woman] succumbed to [her] injuries on the way to the hospital.
Soon after, receiving the information, the police rushed to the scene. The heirs of the [trans woman] lodged a complaint with the police, alleging a man recognised as Mudassar of murdering [deadname]. “Mudassar called in [deadname] to meet [her] in Ahmadpuri gate area where after an exchange of harsh words, he opened indiscriminate fire at [deadname], leaving [her] in critical condition,” they told the police. According to the investigation, Mudassar and [deadname], earlier, remained mutual friends and later, [deadname] avoided meeting Mudassar due to some differences which made Mudassar furious. The police have registered a case against the accused. Further probe was underway.
