Jessy's body was found with multiple stab wounds inside a zoo.
A [trans woman] was found dead by people this Thursday morning (3), in an area of Parque Ecológico do Passaré, the zoo in Fortaleza. Jessy Silva was found with injuries to her body caused by sharp blunt objects. The case is being investigated by the Civil Police.
The City Hall of Fortaleza, which manages the park, said that people told zoo employees about the body found. The body was located outside the space of the animals, in an area of the Parque Ecológico do Passaré.
“Immediately, contact was made via the Integrated Security Operations Coordination (Ciops) to inform about the case and request the presence of police and experts”, said the city hall.
The Public Security Secretariat reported that teams from the Civil Police and the Military Police were called to the incident. Forensic expertise was at the scene collecting evidence that will assist in the investigations.
