R. was shot in the street and died in hospital in the early hours of Wednesday 13th April. Her assailant was captured on CCTV calmly walking away with a gun tucked into his belt.

A 29-year-old [trans woman] was shot dead in the early hours of Wednesday, the 13th, in the city center. The crime took place at the door of a commercial establishment, near the city's bus terminal. The victim was identified as [deadname] da Silva Franco. According to the Military Police, two men who would be on a motorcycle are suspects in the crime. As of this writing, no suspects have been arrested.

Police officers from the 37th Military Police Battalion (BPM) were called at around 3:40 am to check for gunshots, in the vicinity of the bus terminal. At the scene, the military received information that the transvestite had been shot. She was rescued by a team from the Fire Department to the Henrique Sérgio Gregori Municipal Emergency Hospital, in the Jardim Jalisco neighborhood. However, the victim did not survive her injuries.
