Johana was shot outside her home by a man on a bicycle.
Johana Morena Mayor, a 49-year-old woman, was shot dead last Tuesday, December 1, in Cali. Morena Mayor was known in the community as a recognized LGBTI activist and was also a micro-entrepreneur and moneylender.
The crime, which is under investigation, took place while the woman was in front of her home in the Alfonso López neighborhood in the northeast of the city.
Néstor Pérez, an activist for the LGBTI community in Cali, indicated that Johana was lending money, which the authorities consider could be a motive for her murder. According to your information, the motive could have been an execution.
“Johana was a woman who had a job in Europe and the United States. Here in Colombia she was dedicated to the loan of money. One hypothesis is that she was killed because of the non-payment of a debt”, said Pérez.
