Cristal was a hairdresser and trans community leader. Her naked body was found on her bed with signs of violence on the morning of Saturday 11th July.
On Saturday morning, July 11, relatives of Cristal Romero Mattos (52) found her body at the hairdresser she administered in the El Porvenir district (Trujillo). She had been brutally murdered in what appeared to have been a hate crime.
Romero Mattos had a hair salon for more than ten years called “Cristal del Perú”, which was how she was known in her neighborhood on Av.
