Taila was found dead late on Sunday 12th May in an alley on avenida Dom Pedro I in the Santa Branca neighborhood. She had been stabbed multiple times.

A 25-year-old [trans woman] was murdered on Sunday night (12), in the Santa Branca neighborhood in the Pampulha region. In testimony to the Military Police, coworkers of the victim said that the young woman was killed for not paying for the commercial point in which she attended.

The body of the [trans woman] was found in an alley, located between Avenida Pedro I and Rua Sapucaí-Mirim, around 11 pm, with signs of corporal struggle, as well as 15 knife strokes on the head, shoulder and neck.

According to reports of [trans women] working in the region, Taila would have been threatened with death by the person who manages the place for non-payment with the point payment.
