Aghata disappeared on Wednesday 20th February. Transgender Europe (TGEU) report that her body was found 5 days later on Monday 25th February.
The 25-year-old [trans woman] Aghata, born by name [deadname] da Silva Marinho, disappeared last night (20) in Manaus, after participating in the technical rehearsal of the Carnival samba schools in the Sambadrome, in the West Zone of the city. According to the family, she had encountered an ex-boyfriend, argued with him and been beaten. Since then the family has had no news of the young woman.
Aghata's sister Luciana Marinho says family members are very worried and are trying to find information that leads to the girl's whereabouts. "She (Aghata) found an ex-boyfriend and the boy beat him. All of the family were there (at the Sambadrome), but I didn't pay attention to where she stayed. My [sister] always gets in touch with us, but so far nothing," lamented her sister.
