Melanie died of severe brain trauma after being beaten by a man she had gone with to the Empire Hotel at 14 José Manuel Othón Street.
The following morning she had been found naked from the waist down, alone and unconscious in the hotel room. When paramedics arrived they were unable to revive her and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
