Ashley was shot.
She had competed in the 1992 Miss Gay America Pageant as Miss Gay Ohio (she appears on stage around 11 mins 50 secs into the video linked below).
The Ohio drag community unfortunately lost Ashley in November of 1993 when she was found murdered in Columbus, Ohio.
We salute the artistry that was Ashley Ann Summers.
